Reaching a generation with God's love.
The “Kids 'n' Things” team presents the Christian message in a way that children can understand, relate and respond to. They use a variety of creative skills including puppetry, storytelling, mime, conjuring and music. The Kids 'n' Things ministry reaches around 10,000 children each year in schools and churches.
Schools
“Kids 'n' Things” performs 30-minute creative theatre shows in primary schools. The shows, linked to the main Christian festivals of Easter, Harvest and Christmas, explain the true meaning of these important celebrations. There is also a one-day programme on the subject of self-esteem. “Kids 'n' Things” typically presents around 60 shows and 20 school lessons each year.
"Primary schools in Britain are required to hold daily assemblies, the content of which must be mainly Christian. This gives us a tremendous opportunity to go into schools and present Christian truth in a clear and entertaining way. We must make the most of this unique opportunity while we can because we may not always be able to do this." Julian Wolton, KNT Team Leader
Churches
One-week holiday clubs are an effective way of bringing children into church. A typical club may be attended by 30 to130 children, usually 80% of which have no regular church contact. The holiday clubs follow the adventures of the loveable puppet hero "Lionheart". As he learns about himself and God through his adventures, so do the children. Each day's action-packed programme is built around a different spiritual truth. Children of all ages are able to learn and respond. Many children have made commitments to Jesus as a result of taking part in a Kids 'n' Things holiday club. Family services, especially those linked with the holiday club, provide a great opportunity for reaching whole families with the gospel.
Training
“Kids 'n' Things” is committed to inspiring, training and encouraging people who are responsible for children's work in churches. The team runs regular training courses in children's work and puppeteering, either in churches or at our Halesowen training centre.
