Sometimes I get discouraged when I pray. I don’t always see God working, but whether that is because . . .
. . . He isn’t doing it the way I think He should or I am blind to it, is another story.
Our
team had been praying for an opportunity to speak in a boys' school
assembly. We had been in to every other school in Monmouth except the
boys' school. The pastor of the church we work with was set to meet
with the chaplain of the school. We prayed for this meeting, that God
would allow us to speak. After the meeting, the pastor told us that we
were going in the next week to take the entire school assembly, the
last one in the year. Wow! God answered prayer.
The day came
for us to take the assembly, and we were all a little nervous. As we
stood up on the stage, looking out on the risers filled with over 600
students and staff, it would have been easy to panic, but again, God
answered prayer and we had peace as we spoke. We could each share a
part of our testimony of how God had changed our lives. Since we had
no amplification, it was another miracle that we were heard at the back
of the theatre. We finished and stood in the entrance while all the
boys filed past on their way to class. Some staff members came by and
thanked us and said that they enjoyed our presentation. We’ve left a
good impression with both the headmaster and chaplain, and hope that
the new team can go in again in the future.
