OM has over 4,000 people working in over 100 countries, serving with Operation Mobilisation to bring a message of hope to the peoples of the world. We have one thing in common — we love Jesus and we want others to have the opportunity to hear about Him.
We seek to demonstrate and proclaim the love of God. OM teams adapt to the local culture and situation, finding the best ways to share Jesus using literature, the creative arts, friendship, Bible studies, videos and DVD's, correspondence courses, relief and development work, and much, much more.
Wherever possible, Operation Mobilisation works in partnership with the local church, encouraging and supporting local believers. Where there is no church we seek to plant churches. OM Lifehope is an arm of OM UK’s ministry.
OM Lifehope (formerly known as OM LUKE), located in Halesowen, England is a part of the international missions organisation Operation Mobilisation.
Short history
In 1977 returning OM missionaries from India
created a ministry to reach the most unreached immigrant groups in
Coventry. Over the next 10 years 250,000 Asian and Jewish people were
reached using literature, personal witness and special campaigns. In
1988 the group’s aims were widened to include all people groups in the
UK. OM LUKE (now known as OM Lifehope) was formed for this purpose.
Evangelism
Our evangelism relies on teams sharing the gospel at every opportunity.
Our evangelists are constantly exploring new and innovative methods of
outreach, without throwing out tried and tested means. They work in
partnership with local churches to maximize their impact on communities
(click for more information on our community evangelist team).

Training
Training is a vital part of OM Lifehope’s work. Without proper training
our evangelists would be much less prepared for the challenges facing
them in a post-Christian Britain. The Training Team is responsible for
the skills development of all new people joining OM Lifehope. It also
provides in-service training for OM Lifehope staff. Some specialist
courses are run in the performing arts, children’s work and training
trainers. The Training Team works constantly to review and improve the
quality of training offered at Lifehope. This involves research into
learning styles and creative approaches to learning.
The section on the new ‘Community Outreach Teams’
will give you more information on our training. If you come to OM
Lifehope as part of the Global Action Programme you will initially join
a Community Outreach Team, although specialisation is also possible.

Strategy
OM Lifehope has a fully developed strategy
designed to carry it through until 2010. A vital part of the strategy
is the launch of our new “Community Outreach Teams”. In response to the
needs and challenges facing us in multi-cultural Britain, the teams are
working in partnership with churches to demonstrate and share the
Gospel right in the heart of the community. We are pioneering and
developing ministries that address people’s needs on every level –
emotional, physical, spiritual and social.
Today God is opening
up many new opportunities for OM Lifehope to engage with local
communities – bringing life and hope in Jesus Christ. Expressing this
new focus, we have changed our name from OM LUKE to OM Lifehope.
Our
commitment to discipleship and our passion for evangelism remain
unchanged. We believe that this new name reflects our desire to see
lives and communities transformed through Christ and more accurately
describes our ministry on every level.
